Programmatically Locking Graphs in a Fixed Position

Filename: fix_plot_area.vi
Requirements: View

This VI uses Property Nodes to fix a graph in a given location on a front panel and lock the plot area to a fixed size programmatically. This technique compensates for the default behavior of chart and graph controls that automatically resize the plot area when the y-axis range is changed during execution.

The VI displays a default (moving) chart and a modified (stationary) chart for comparison. You can click a button to change the y-axis range randomly. After you do so, the stationary chart has a fixed plot area, but the regular chart does not.
