The attached example demonstrates a method for polling the command lines of the General Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB) bus from the LabVIEW environment. The standard LabVIEW 488.2 language interface does not support the IBLINES function, which is the standard NI-488 function to query these lines. This example demonstrates the methodology for obtaining the unit descriptor for the device, calling the IBLINES function and interpreting the results. This code has a built-in IBSRE function to assert and desassert the REN command line to demonstrate that the IBLINES function does in fact work. Full documentation of the IBLINES function can be found at the link below.
