The default Numeric Limit Test step type has an edit substep that allows you to manually select the limit values, comparison type (i.e. EQ, NE, GT, LT, GE, LE, GTLT, GELE, GELT, GTLE, and LOG), units, numeric format, and data source. You can set these options by right-clicking a Numeric Limit Test step and selecting Edit Limits from the context menu.

This example step type replaces the edit substep of the default Numeric Limit Test step type and allows the user to specify a return numeric value from which TestStand calculates the limits. When the sequence executes, TestStand checks the return value from this step (Step.Result.Numeric) against +/- 10% of the specified value. This example implements the edit substep as a LabVIEW VI.

For more information about step types and substeps refer to the Creating and Modifying Custom Step Types section in Chapter 9 of the TestStand User Manual.
