In this experiment, students will study complex power in a single-phase AC system using the LabVIEW simulations provided. The concepts of the power triangle are discussed in the pre-lab and studied in the experiment. Students will also study the requirements for power factor correction, or compensation, in this experiment.

Before the lab, students should have a good understanding of active, reactive, and instantaneous power, and the relationship between the three.
