This program calculates the resolution and maximum error for the SCXI-1540 in units of mils, degrees, and minutes of arc for linear variable differential transformers (LVDT), rotary variable differential transformers (RVDT), and resolver measurements, respectively.

LVDT:
To calculate the resolution and the maximum error for an LVDT measurement, select the LVDT tab at the top. The Resolution (Bit Width) box refers to the resolution of the E Series DAQ device. Most E Series DAQ devices have either 12 or 16 bits of resolution. Refer to the E Series DAQ device documentation for resolution specifications. The Maximum and Minimum Voltage boxes refer to the range of voltages for which the E Series DAQ device is configured. The Total System Accuracy box value can be obtained from the Accuracy Calculator available at ni.com/accuracy. LVDT sensitivity refers to the sensitivity of the LVDT.

RVDT:
To calculate the resolution and the maximum error for an RVDT measurement, select the RVDT tab at the top. RVDT sensitivity refers to the sensitivity of the RVDT.

Resolver:
To calculate the resolution and the maximum error for a resolver measurement, select the Resolver tab at the top. The Resolution (Bit Width) box refers to the resolution of the E Series DAQ device.
