This example program acquires thermocouple data from an SCXI-1120 or SCXI-1121, averages it, linearizes it, and graphs it on a strip chart.

NOTE: This VI assumes that you have set your SCXI-1120/1121 channel gains to 2000 and therefore setting the input limits to 0.0025 to -0.0025 volts. If you set your SCXI-1120/1121 channels to different gains with the jumpers, change the input limits on the block diagram appropriately for your DAQ device and SCXI module combination. You may get a LV Warning Code 10025 if the input limits you set do not exactly match the software configuration.

The temperature sensor on the SCXI terminal block is used for cold junction compensation.

The program averages many samples for each data point to reduce noise in the temperature signal. This technique is recommended when you are acquiring data from slowly varying input signals.

This example does not allow user control of the channel clock rate (interchannel delay). The interchannel delay is the time between any two consecutive channels within a scan. By default, LabVIEW will determine a correct interchannel delay based on the SCXI gain and filter settings.

Hint/Suggestions: To display more channels on the strip chart you must change cluster size of the array to cluster icon in the diagram.
