Simple TCP/IP Messaging (STM) Component
Overview
This attached file contains an installer for the simple messaging protocol (STM) component, which provides a LabVIEW application programming interface for network communication in a distributed system.
Documentation
The attached component and design pattern VIs are discussed in the following documents:
Requirements
The STM Component requires the following support software:
- LabVIEW 8.2.1 or later
It includes some examples that require the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, but it is not required to use the component.
Additional information on features, installation and licensing are available in ReadMe files included in the attached source distribution.
The tutorial for this component can be found here. Search Developer Zone using the term “Simple TCP Messaging” to see where this component is used.

installation depends on position .exe directory
When trying to install the package I got a
message installation fails: file not found.
I was trying to install the package from a
directory that was on a substituted drive P:
substituted from the C-drive itself. After
moving the unzipped folder directly to the
C-drive it worked.
Maybe the folder names got to big?
P:\LabVIEW\examples\Simple TCPIP Messaging
(STM) Component\stm1.0
and P: is the C:\P folder. (not Hidden)
