Requirements: View

S-video is composed of two independent signals: luminance (Y) and chroma (C). To generate a S-video signal, two NI-5431s are needed: one for the Y signal and one for C signal.

This example includes two VIs that generate binary video files. One VI allows you to create either the Y or C output video file, and the other VI creates both the Y and the C output video files.

Also included is an example that generates synchronized Y and C video on two NI PCI-5431 devices. These devices are synchronized with a RTSI cable. If you want to use NI PXI-5431 devices instead, an external reference clock at 20.038 MHz is required. You can use the NI PXI-5404 as your external reference clock.
