This starter kit demonstrates how you can use the TEDS calibration table template with a Virtual TEDS (VTEDS) file to improve thermocouple accuracy. However, the principles of using Virtual TEDS technology and calibration apply to all analog sensors. You will immerse a thermocouple requiring calibration in a temperature bath and compare its readings against a NIST-traceable platinum resistance thermometer (PRT). By repeating the process at several temperatures, the example VI will build a calibration table following the TEDS format for use in future temperature measurements.

This document assumes you have already set up your measurement hardware properly using Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). For this demonstration, the SC-2350 TEDS enabled SCC carrier was used. For more information on configuring your system, please visit www.ni.com/devzone.
