This document contains examples that explain how to reacquire a video signal after it has been lost, corrupted, or switched.

When NI-IMAQ loses the camera or video signal, it generates the following error indicating that the image acquisition device did not acquire the entire image:
Error 1074397150 NI-IMAQ: (Hex 0xBFF60022) (IMG_ERR_TIMO) wait timed out; acquisition not complete

Possible reasons:

-Lost video signal: the cable was disconnected or the camera lost power
-Corrupted video signal: if using a VCR, fast-forwarding or pausing causes the timing information to change
-Switched video signal: if acquiring from a cable box and the channel is switched, the timing information synchronizes with the new channel

The following examples reacquire a video signal after the error (1074397150) has been generated. When the error generates, it is stored in the NI-IMAQ driver for that particular instance of NI-IMAQ. You can clear the error by closing that instance of NI-IMAQ and starting a new one.

When trying to reacquire, the error (1074397153) occurs if the video signal is not available. When the error occurs, repeat the loop until the video signal is reacquired.
