Locking Front Panel Controls

Filename: lockpanel.exe
Requirements: View

This self-extracting archive contains utility VIs that you can use to lock front panel controls using their disable properties. Extract the file to the LabVIEW directory to install the following files in the following directories: utility VIs and a dir.mnu file in \vi.lib\addons\Lock Panel\Lock FPTerminals.llb and example VIs in \examples\general\lockfp.llb.

The dir.mnu file adds the utility VIs to the Functions palette. To remove them from the palette, add an underscore to the beginning of the Lock Panel directory, such as ...\_Lock Panel.

The Lock function uses a VI refnum to save the current disabled state of all the front panel terminals in an uninitialized shift register before disabling all the terminals. The Unlock function restores the terminals to the disabled state from the last time the Lock function was called. The Create functions use either a VI refnum that was passed in or the Call Chain function with Open VI Reference to get a VI refnum. The example demonstrates storing multiple lock states by using different VI refnums to the same VI.
