Below is an example that uses NI-VISA to implement VXI Word Serial Protocol for one Word Serial Write and one Word Serial Read. The user must supply a valid VISA Resource Name to a message-based device. You can also adjust the timeout on the write or the read, as well as the delay between each operation to account for a slower VXI device. Simple error checking is implemented on both the read and write operations. Typically, the same effect is generated with a simple VISA read or write. This code shows the actual implementation of the word serial protocol that the NI-VXI driver normally takes care of automatically.
