Voice Recognition in LabVIEW

These self-extracting archives contain utility VIs that you can use to add voice recognition capabilities to LabVIEW. One archive contains VIs that call ActiveX properties of Microsoft Agent, which you can download from MSDN (see link below). The other archive uses the Dragon NaturallySpeaking program (see link below), available from most retail stores.

Extract the archives to the LabVIEW directory to install the following files in the following directories: utility VIs, dir.mnu, and readme.txt in \vi.lib\addons\MSAgent Voice\ and example VIs in \examples\VoiceRecognition\MSAgent Voice\. Substitute Dragon Nat Speak for MSAgent Voice to find the corresponding files.

The dir.mnu file adds the utility VIs to the Functions palette. To remove them from the palette, add an underscore to the beginning of the directory, such as "...\_MSAgent Voice."]

You must install and configure Microsoft Agent or Dragon NaturallySpeaking before you can use the VIs. Please read the readme.txt file before running the VIs.


NOTE: The Dragon NaturallySpeaking example was written with for older versions and has not been fully tested with current versions. The example needs modifications to work with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8.0. Some ActiveX references and methods need to be relinked. ActiveX callbacks should be rewritten to use Register for Event Callback method.

Unable to Load VI
Hi, when I tried to load the VI, it could not find the following subVis: "Destroy MSAgentTTS.vi" "Text to MSAgentTTS.vi" "Create MSAgentTTS.vi" Can you please provide those missing files? Thanks, James Frakes

Wait for voice event.vi ISSUE
I used MS agent for my project and I tested several times and was working perfectly. I took a break for 4 days when I run the program at the top left were the character shows up it says LV6i is not listening.? I tried to re-install MSagent addson but no luck! if anyone can help please contact me at my email bellow: ardee3949@gmail.com

Need more help with it.
I am using LV 2009 and Windows XP. unfortunately I was not able to use this example VIs. It would be good if you can make it bit simpler. Simpler examples would help developers to create voice controlled applications. looking forward to your help
