The National Instruments Microscope Start-Up-Kit is designed for specimen counting and analysis applications. You can use the kit to control the objectives, filter wheels, turrets, and shutter of a microscope using serial commands. You can also monitor streaming images of the cells with image acquisition, as well as perform image analysis on specimen snap-shots.

The kit leverages existing PC technology, image acquisition and control to simplify configuration and lower system cost. With the open source code architecture, you can modify the kit for individual applications and connect to other I/O devices. The kit uses the LabVIEW graphical development system to control the microscope, capture images, and perform image analysis.
