Overview

The Tag Configuration Editor is a component of the machine control reference architecture, which is described in detail in a number of articles available on Developer Zone.

The Tag Configuration Editor (TCE) is installed as an executable application in the project folder of your LabVIEW installation. It is availabale in the tools menu of the LabVIEW environment. A detailed description for using the TCE is available in A Tag Configuration Editor for Machine Control.

Configuration files generated with the TCE are used with the following components:

  • Current Value Table (CVT)
  • CVT Client Communication (CCC)
  • cRIO I/O Engine (CIE)
  • Touch Panel Alarm Engine (TAE)

Search Developer Zone for these components for more information on how the TCE is used as part of the machine control reference architecture. 

Additional information on features, installation and licensing are available in ReadMe files included in the attached source distribution.

source code TCE
Where can we download the source code of the Tag Configuration Editor? I'm using it frequently, but I would like to update the list of possible protocols, since it isn't very general. If possible, I would like to obtain the source code so I can update the software for internal usage. Otherwise I have to rewrite the whole editor...
