Overview

The I/O Simulator mimics the behavior of a LabVIEW DSC custom I/O server. It provides “live” (dynamic) data for a user-specified number of shared variables that can be used for LabVIEW DSC-based system design and testing.

The I/O Simulator requires LabVIEW 8.2.1 and LabVIEW DSC Module 8.2.1 or later.

To run the I/O Simulator, open the project and open the IO Simulator VI.  Set the number of simulated I/O channels that you want (default is 100) and then run the VI.

The simulator launches a 4-function generator VI that produces “live” data for the simulated channels.

It also runs a subVI that creates the simulated I/O server process, deploys the requested number of shared variables and binds them to the function generator data sources.

After configuring the I/O server process the IO simulator and shared variable deployment VIs close.

The function generator window remains open and continues to update the simulated channel data until you stop it.

These instructions are also included as a ReadMe file in the LabVIEW project.
