Vibration Analysis

Overview

This VI performs vibration analysis on a simulated signal. The data is scaled to engineering units and then frequency weighted. The energy content of the signal is then measured using three different methods: computing the power spectrum and then finding the power in band, computing the RMS level of the signal, and computing the running RMS level of the signal. The frequency range of the power in band computation is determined by moving the cursors around the range of the power spectrum to be measured. This program is a shipping example VI included with the NI Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite and NI Sound and Vibration Toolkit.

This Virtual Instrument is designed to work with data acquisition hardware from National Instruments. To find compatible hardware for this application, visit ni.com/soundandvibration.
