Input Capture/Function Generator using NI ELVIS II and Freescale MCU SLK
Overview
Extend your knowledge of timer overflow and see how it can generate an interrupt. You will also learn about internal timer hardware and write an interrupt service routine (ISR) to handle the timer overflow interrupt.

In addition to generating accurate time intervals in our microcontroller programs, we frequently need to time external events. The timer circuit includes an input capture system that allows our programs to do this.
At the conclusion of this module you will be able to write a program using the input capture features to measure the width of a pulse or the frequency of a signal. You will also be able to output a function from your microcontroller to the NI ELVIS II Oscilloscope and generate a similar function using the NI ELVIS II's onboard Function Generator.
