This DataPlugin Example shows how to create a DataPlugin to read Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice Calc spreadsheets.

It uses the spreadsheet file reader of the DataPlugin interface. The spreadsheet file reader allows you to read Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice Calc spreadsheet files without requiring the actual spreadsheet software on your computer. To learn more about how to develop a DataPlugin, please refer to the DataPlugin Programmer's Reference.

Note: To use DataPlugins containing the spreadsheet file reader with LabVIEW and DataFinder Server Edition, you need to have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 installed on your computer. See Using DataPlugins Containing the Spreadsheet File Reader for details.

Note: Use the TDM Excel Add-In to directly work with TDM and TDMS files in Microsoft Excel.

 File Extension: *.XLS,
*.XLSX,
*.ODS
