SoftMotion Axis Interface Example for R-Series and Multi-Axis Servo Control
Overview
Attached is an example demonstrating a scalable approach to multi-axis motion on an R-Series using SoftMotion to control multiple servo drives.

Prior axis interface examples for R-Series cards did not provide a scalable approach to multi-axis motion control. Prior examples provided code for only a single axis. Creating a copy of this code for each axis would consume all FPGA space after only 3 axes.
This example provides a starting point for controlling four servo axes (or any drive that accepts an analog control signal) and can be modified to accept additional axes with a minimal impact on FPGA space.
Though code is commented, author assumes that user has prior exposure to SoftMotion and LabVIEW FPGA. Please see LabVIEW help for introductory information before implementing the attached multi-axis interface.
