New Dual-Port Gigabit Ethernet Module for PXI Express
Test engineers now can add more gigabit Ethernet ports to their PXI Express test systems with the NI PXIe-8234 dual-port gigabit Ethernet module. This module communicates to a PXI Express controller via a x4 PCI Express connection and provides two gigabit Ethernet ports. With these modules, engineers can connect 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-T Ethernet devices – including GigE Vision cameras – directly to their PXI systems.

The NI PXIe-8234 module is the first National Instruments product to provide high-speed connectivity for NI vision products on the PXI Express platform.
The NI PXIe-8234 is the first National Instruments product to offer high-speed connectivity for NI vision products on the PXI Express platform. Engineers now can connect up to 16 GigE Vision cameras in an 18-slot PXI Express hybrid chassis to perform machine vision and automated inspection applications. By accessing the image packets before they are transferred to Microsoft Windows, NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection takes advantage of the Intel PRO/100 chipset on the NI PXIe-8234 to provide better performance and lower CPU usage during video acquisition.
