New Tools for a More Productive, Personalized Online Experience

National Instruments recently released several new tools that make shopping, browsing, and researching on ni.com even more efficient. For example, the new Upgrade Advisor makes finding an upgrade for your NI software as easy as entering a serial number. The advisor shows you available upgrade options and compatible modules. When you are ready, quote your upgrade to lock in pricing for 30 days.

Next, the new Web notifications tool connects you to the most relevant news and information while browsing ni.com. Based on your ni.com user profile, NI alerts you with important notices, such as Standard Service Program (SSP)  service expirations or hardware calibration recommendations. This feature also sends updates on personalized discounts and promotions for which you are eligible.

In addition, you now can refine your ni.com product searches to more specific subsets to quickly determine whether a product fits your needs. View general search specifications on individual model pages or search more in-depth product specifications by using the “Detailed Specifications” link.

Visitors to ni.com also benefit from a new definition-type feature that offers instant access to a definition for any word or product name underlined in green. Hover over the underlined content with your mouse and simply select the “Help Me Choose” function to view a detailed explanation of the term (see figure).

Academic customers can take advantage of the new “Configurable Bundles” feature on ni.com to create customized, application-oriented platforms. Educators, researchers, and students can use the system’s intuitive user interface to choose from different controllers, chassis, modules, and software options to design custom bundles for their applications.

Finally, technical content on ni.com now includes 2D and 3D drawings, accessible in the resources tabs from ni.com model pages. Download these images to your desktop in various versions and file formats including .pdf and .dxf.

Visitors to ni.com now can easily define products and terminology by hovering over words underlined in green to view a detailed description.
