DAQTron Trident Tests Digital Television Hardware
With the DAQTron Trident Suite, you can automate testing for digital television technologies.
Select National Instruments Alliance Partner DAQTron Inc. has announced Trident Suite – a set of software and hardware for customized testing automation of digital television technologies based on NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and the PXI hardware platform. Trident Suite spans the entire process of testing digital broadcast equipment and includes the following:
- Trident Transport Stream Generator (TSG) – Creates customized transport streams including video still images and streams as well as audio samples and streams. The resulting streams include information for many standards, including DVB, ATSC, and ISDB.
- Trident Digital Video Generator (DVG) – Transforms customized transport stream files into a single binary data format suitable for playback on PXI-based NI RF signal generator (RFSG) hardware.
- Trident Digital Video Player (DVP) – Streams data generated from DVG to NI RFSG hardware. DVP also performs bit error rate (BER) testing and adding impairments for signal quality tests.
- Trident Digital Video Analyzer (DVA) – Uses NI RFSA to analyze band power, MER, EVM, constellation maps, and frequency errors.
The DAQTron Trident Suite provides the ultimate combination of flexibility, upgradability, and low cost for testing devices with digital video technology. Additionally, the use of LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and the PXI platform furthers efficiency because you can easily integrate with existing solutions such as audio or analog video testing.
