A commonly accepted but often overlooked principle for all PC-based measurement equipment states that the quality of the driver software is just as important as the quality of the measurement hardware. National Instruments offers three levels of data acquisition software to address this concept – NI-DAQmx, NI-DAQmx Base, and the NI Measurement Hardware DDK (Driver Development Kit). With multiple levels of driver software, you can build solutions that incorporate NI data acquisition (DAQ) hardware using the OS and programming language of your choice for benchtop, industrial, portable, or embedded applications.

NI-DAQmx Base driver software now works with select USB DAQ devices on a variety of OSs.

New NI-DAQmx Base USB DAQ Compatibility

Now available for download, NI-DAQmx Base 3.1 adds compatibility for select NI USB DAQ devices to the list of supported OSs. NI-DAQmx Base offers a subset of NI-DAQmx functionality on Windows, Linux®, Mac OS X, Windows Mobile, and Windows CE OSs. This driver software option includes ready-to-use NI LabVIEW VIs and C function examples to help you develop your applications. The table illustrates a list of newly compatible devices and OSs. Refer to the NI-DAQmx Base Readme file for a comprehensive compatibility list.
