Explanation of C Series Specifications
| Term | Explanation |
| SE | Single Ended - All channels are referenced to a common terminal |
| DI | Differential Input - Each terminal has its own reference terminal (though this terminal may have a connection to ground.) |
| Rate | Unless otherwise indicated, the listed rate is an aggregate sample rate. |
| Multiplexed | Each channel is measured sequentially |
| Slow Sampled | This module will return duplicate samples in a 9172 chassis in order to sustain the rates of multiplexed or simultaneous modules. New samples will be taken at the rate listed. |
| Simultaneous | All channels on the module are sampled concurrently |
| Serial Module | Input or Output data is transferred serially between the chassis backplane and the module. Starting in DAQmx 9.3, serial modules can be used in buffered tasks for a single direction (either input or output). Due to the serial transfer of data, these modules cannot be used to route timing or triggering signals. |
| Parallel Module | Input or Output data is transferred in parallel between the chassis backplane and the module. In addition to performing clocked digital tasks, parallel modules have access to the PFI lines in the chassis that can be used to route timing and triggering signals. |
Driver Version Requirements Table
The following table details which chassis and carriers support each NI-DAQmx supported C Series Module. It also contains the earliest version of NI-DAQmx in which that support was available. Unless otherwise indicated, modules which have support in earlier versions of NI-DAQmx continue to be supported in the most recent version of NI-DAQmx.
Note: If no driver version is listed, then the module is not supported in that chassis or carrier.
* Requires the NI-XNET driver as the programming API to communicate with CAN devices
(Legacy Devices) Driver Version Requirements Table
The following table details which chassis and carriers support each NI-DAQmx supported C Series Module. It also contains the earliest version of NI-DAQmx in which that support was available. Unless otherwise indicated, modules which have support in earlier versions of NI-DAQmx continue to be supported in the most recent version of NI-DAQmx.
Note: If no driver version is listed, then the module is not supported in that chassis or carrier.
* These modules have legacy support in NI-DAQmx Base with the USB-9161 carrier.
