Overview

The provided zip file allows users to create EPICS Client I/O Servers in LabVIEW 2009 without installing the LabVIEW DSC Module.

Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) is a software architecture for building distributed control systems to operate devices such as particle accelerators, telescopes, and other large experiments. With the EPICS client in LabVIEW, you can connect to EPICS IOC to read and write from process variables.

Installation Instructions

To install EPICS IO Server support for LabVIEW without the Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module follow the steps below. Make sure to exit LabVIEW before following these steps.

1. Extract the ZIP file to a location on your hard drive.
2. Run the NI_IO_Server_Provider_90\NI_IOSrvPvdr\LVRT_IOSrvPvdr_90.msi installer.
3. Run the EPICSIOServer\EPICSSrvr.msi\EPICSSrvr.msi installer.
4. Run the EPICSIOServer_Base\epics_base\epics_base.msi installer.
5. Run the EPICS_LVSupp_90\EPICSLVSupp900.msi\EPICSLVSupp900.msi installer.
6. Open the services window by going go Start»Run and typing "services.msc" (without the quotes).
7. Find National Instruments Variable Engine in the list, right-click and select Restart.
