white noise
A noise signal that does not repeat, and for which the spectral energy per Hz is independent of frequency. The spectrum looks “flat” on a spectrum analyzer display, and increases with frequency on an octave- or one-third octave band display (because there are more Hz per band at higher frequency). Same as random noise.
For an interactive LabVIEW Player Demo where you can see the time domain representation of white noise and its spectrum, as well as other signal types, click here.
For a more advanced interactive demo, where you can modify the triangle wave with distortion and noise, and pass it through a "virtual" Unit Under Test, click here.
