EDN Finalist for Embedded System of the Year
|
| EDN magazine editors and readers selected the NI CompactRIO low-cost, reconfigurable control and acquisition system as the winner for the magazine’s annual Innovation of the Year award in the embedded systems category. The award recognizes how embedded system designers can increase productivity with CompactRIO using high-performance reconfigurable FPGA technology and automated NI LabVIEW graphical development tools to quickly develop custom control and acquisition hardware. “Innovation is the heart and soul of engineering, and these awards demonstrate that the search for new technologies to improve quality of life is alive and well in the global semiconductor industry,” said EDN Editor in Chief John Dodge. “We applaud all the engineers who are dedicated to nurturing the spirit of discovery and invention.” |
EDN Top Hot 100 Products of 2004
![]() | EDNmagazine named CompactRIO as one of the top technologies of 2004, listing it among its “Hot 100 Products.”
The best 100 products of 2004 includes a broad range of architectures, technologies, and categories—from embedded tools to processors to programmable ICs. CompactRIO was named one of EDN’s “Hot 100 Products” in the embedded tools category for its revolutionary embedded architecture combining FPGA and real-time technologies programmable with automated LabVIEW graphical programmging tools. |
Best of Sensors Expo Award 2005
![]() | Sensors presented a bronze award in the category of data acquisition to National Instruments CompactRIO embedded data acquisition and control platform, which uses a reconfigurable FPGA, allowing users to implement multi-loop analog PID and digital control systems for real-time control. The CompactRIO system is programmed with graphical LabVIEW code, which increases the ease of use. The editors of Sensors, which has led the industry for more than twenty-one years, presented gold, silver, and bronze awards to 11 Sensors Expo exhibitors in four categories: Sensors, Sensor Components, Networking and Communications, and Data Acquisition. Exhibitors submitted new product nominations and the entries were judged on the basis of whether the product has potential to change the way people work, whether it serves a real need, and whether it is highly distinct from other product offerings. AEI Tech 2005 Award from SAE
![]() | SEA honored National Instruments CompactRIO embedded control and acquisition system with an AEI Tech 2005 award. CompactRIO features reconfigurable I/O (input/output) technology for applications in which small size and high reliability are crucial. The technology enables LabVIEW developers to defind their own custom measurement hardware circuitry using reconfigurable field programmable gate array (FPGA) chips and LabVIEW graphical development tools. |
VDC Best of Show at Embedded Systems Conference 2004
![]() | CompactRIO received the "Embeddies" best of show award from Venture Development Corporation for the Embedded Systems Conference in 2004 Best of Show: National Instrument's CompactRIO -- National Instruments continues to impress and defy categorization. Their tools and solutions are so versatile it is often difficult to get a handle on all the possibilities. CompactRIO is a small form factor data acquisition and industrial control system that is programmed using LabVIEW. The basic offering is a real-time processing unit with either a 4 or 8 slot chassis for expandability. The processing unit features a 200MHz Pentium class CPU while the chassis is powered by an FPGA, which accepts custom logic programmed in LabVIEW FPGA. The result is a versatile, rugged and easily deployed test and measurement or control solution. Copyright Venture Development Corporation, 2004, all rights reserved. IAN Automation Excellence Award, October 2004
| CompactRIO was awarded the Automation Excellence Award from IAN in October of 2004 for providing innovative technology that contributes to the succcess of the control and instrumentation marketplace. Instrumentation & Automation News provides control and instrumentation engineers and managers with relevant and reliable information on new technologies, products, equipment, software, systems and services. |
Product Design & Development Engineering Award Finalists, December 2004
Product Design and Development selected CompactRIO as one the 40 finalists in 10th Annual Engineering Awards.
