The National Instruments CompactRIO combines an open embedded architecture with small size, extreme ruggedness, and hot-swappable industrial I/O modules. Being powered by reconfigurable I/O (RIO) FPGA technology allows third party developers to create custom modules to meet industry specific needs and requirements.
