Telematics and Multimedia Test System – Averna
Table of Contents
Overview
The Averna Multimedia, Audio, and Telematics Platform offers an open architecture test solution flexible enough to meet the demands of product design, product assurance, and manufacturing test environments. It provides unmatched parallel test capability, repeatability, stability, and speed while maintaining operator ease of use.
TestStand Value: Scalable from use with simple car radios to complex multimedia and telematic head units.
Test basic automobile (other air/ground vehicles ) radios with AM/FM, digital audio, DVD, tapes, and CD players, as well as Internet-ready telematic head units that add Radio Broadcast Data Systems (RBDS) encoders, popular digital satellite interfaces.
TestStand Value: Adaptable for design, verification, durability, production, end-of-line testing, and product repair.
Reduces product design cycle. Enables characterization, parametric and digital test for NPI. Scale up from the same base platform for design and product verification of multiple test objects. Then, re-use software and transition the test system for high or low volume production and end-of-line testing on the manufacturing floor. Specify a version of the same test platform for the repair depot.
TestStand Value: Designed for parallel or asynchronous testing.
Traditionally, some test platforms were designed to test multiple objects in a parallel manner, running the same tests on the same test objects simultaneously and required more instruments to support multiple UUTs. Example: Traditionally, parallel voltage test approach may require four voltmeter channels. While this maximizes throughput, it is often expensive to configure. Averna’s TestStand based, asynchronous testing methodology, enables multiple or single UUTs to be tested, maximizing throughput with reduced costs. By incorporating asynchronous testing, different tests can execute on different test objects at the same time and actually outperform a fully loaded system using parallel testing.
Averna GUIs enable ease of use for both operators and test developers, while shrinking development time and costs. Averna has developed hundreds of proven DC-to-light test libraries for use within TestStand. Designers and manufacturers can quickly implement changes to TestStandTM sequences, variables and other parameters without editing the sequence.
