National Instruments hardware can be configured for temperature measurement in a variety of applications. All hardware can be used with the free data logging program that ships with the product or programmed with a variety of languages including LabVIEW, C++, VB6, or Visual Studio.NET. All NI temperature measurement systems are modular and expandable. You can increase your channel count or incorporate different measurement types by adding modules to your chassis. Modules are available for RTD, accelerometer, strain gage, load cell, current, high-voltage and other measurement types. See below for NI recommended temperature measurement systems.

  High Accuracy & Low Cost
    • Hi-Speed USB
    • 24-bit resolution
    • Starting at $395

For general purpose lower-cost temperature measurement systems, NI offers USB hardware that can take measurements in minutes. These devices offer USB plug-and-play configuration and screw terminal connectivity for simplified setup, and 24-bit resolution with filtering for a highly accurate temperature measurement.

  Isolation
    • 300 Vrms channel-to-channel isolation
    • Programmable filters
    • Protection from voltage spikes up to 2,300 Vrms

Isolation provides several benefits to temperature measurement systems including enhanced operator and system safety, elimination of ground-loops, and high noise rejection for noisy industrial environments.

  Ethernet
    • Rugged hardware for industrial environments
    • -40 to 70 °C operating temperature range
    • Hot-swappable modules

Ethernet-based temperature measurement devices connect to an existing network and communicate via TCP/IP. Select an ethernet-based solution for distributed applications or remote monitoring.

  High Channel Count
    • 32 to more than 3000 channels available
    • Modular and expandable for future upgrades
    • Screw terminal or mini TC connectors available for thermocouple sensor connection

National Instruments signal conditioning platform based on the SCXI bus can expand to over 3000 channels for extreme high-channel count applications. Chassis come in two different sizes reducing the need to pay for empty slots while still allowing a system to grow with your project needs.
