Using CP 5613 with National Instruments OPC Clients

This document leads, step-by-step, on how to configure a DP network using SimaticNet software with OPC for Windows NT/2000 and use the OPC Server to communicate with some of NI OPC Clients such as Lookout and LabVIEW 6.0i. Once Siemens SimaticNET OPC server supports browsing, this can be easily used with MeasurementStudio's OPC examples, or with the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control module (DSC). Due to the extensive number of pictures in the document, this is not presented in the quick view. Although a zip file, which is located at the end of this page shows in details how to setup and communicate with the Siemens OPC server.
