Invited presentation AAPT 2001 Summer Meeting: 21.-25. July 2001 in Rochester, NewYork, USA. Author: Lauterburg Urs, Session Code: DA05, Session Date: 7/24/01, Session Time: 2:40 p.m. Title: LabVIEW-Based Measurement and Projection System for Physics Demonstrations and Labs. Abstract: The presentation will show virtual instrumentation developed with the LabVIEWô graphical programming environment for professional data acquisition. 'Virtual instruments can be used to enhance demonstration experiments and student labs in physics education at the university level. Some strategies for using this computer-based equipment, not as a replacement but as an enrichment to the effective teaching of fundamental concepts of physics, will be discussed. Examples of demonstrations and lab equipment will be explained and explored in detail.
