NI Academic Site License Circuits Option

National Instruments Academic Site License Circuit Design and Simulation Option – offers a comprehensive suite of software designed to meet multiuser licensing needs for departments, colleges and campuses. 

Specifically designed for classrooms and teaching labs, the Circuits Option provides the software tools to help students learn circuit theory through innovative academic features. With the Academic Site License - Circuits Option, the Multisim circuits teaching environment, and Ultiboard layout and routing tools, can be easily distributed to your department, college, or campus.

NI Academic Site License Circuit Design and Simulation Option includes the following software components:

  1. NI Multisim Education Edition (with MCU Module functionality)
  2. NI Ultiboard Education Edition
  3. NI LabVIEW Evaluation
  4. NI LabVIEW SignalExpress
  5. NI ELVISmx
  6. NI Device Drivers

Note(s): The Academic Site License – Circuits Option does not require the purchase of the Academic Site License – LabVIEW Core Software, but can be used in conjunction. Multisim and Ultiboard are not included in the All Software Option of the Academic Site License.

Student Install Option

The Student Install Option is an ideal solution for distributing NI Multisim and the rest of the Academic Site License Circuits Option software to a large student body (for example, freshman engineering students).

The student install option for the NI Academic Site License is designed to:

  1. Give students access, at an affordable price, to the same powerful software at home that they use at school.
  2. Permit students to install the Multisim Education Edition software from the academic site license on their personal computers. 
  3. Manage licensing and distribution using the Volume License Manager (VLM).

With this option, students can use the complete features of Multisim Education Edition at home, rather than purchasing the Multisim Student Edition. Requirements for purchasing the student install option include:

  1. An active academic site license with up-to-date maintenance.
  2. 50-seat minimum purchase at a time ($40 USD/seat).
  3. Purchase by the university/school.
  4. Purchase of new seats must be made for additional students (seats are not transferrable among students).
