Overview

Welcome to the NI Single-Board RIO introductory training module. This free training will guide you through several examples and exercises to show you how to begin programming NI Single-Board RIO.

Preface

This tutorial is compiled for and designed to work with the NI Single-Board RIO hardware that is included in the NI Embedded Software Evaluation Kit. That kit includes an NI Single-Board RIO, a signal accessory daughter card for example I/O, a power supply, cables, and all documentation and accessories you would need to get started. The exercises and examples in the tutorial could also work with any sbRIO-961x/963x/964x with the EvalRIO-02 signal accessory daughtercard.

This tutorial assumes very little previous knowledge of LabVIEW or NI RIO hardware architecture. If you are already familiar with LabVIEW and programming NI CompactRIO, NI Single-Board RIO is based on the same architecture, so you already have the skills needed to create applications with NI Single-Board RIO.

System Requirements

This tutorial requires the following hardware and software components for completion: (All components are included in NI Embedded Software Evaluation Kit)

  • Software
  1. LabVIEW Development System
  2. LabVIEW Real-Time Development Module
  3. LabVIEW FPGA Development Module
  • Hardware
