Overview
The LabVIEW Platform DVD provides evaluation options for LabVIEW, LabVIEW Modules, and LabVIEW Toolkits. This tutorial walks through installing LabVIEW evaluation software for CompactRIO, using the LabVIEW Platform DVD and the NI Device Drivers DVD. For questions see ni.com/support.

Install LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time, and LabVIEW FPGA
1. Insert the LabVIEW Platform DVD
2. Select Install LabVIEW, Modules, and Toolkits
a. If the LabVIEW Platform menu does not appear, run setup.exe
3. Select Next
4. Expand the Embedded (Real-Time, FPGA, and Microprocessor) folder
5. Choose to install the Real-Time Module and FPGA Module in addition to LabVIEW

6. Select Next to enter your name and company information
7. Select Next and leave the serial numbers blank to evaluate LabVIEW
8. Continue selecting Next and following the instructions to begin installation
Install the Drivers
1. Insert the NI Device Drivers DVD
2. Choose to install NI Device Drivers
a. If the NI Device Drivers menu does not appear, run setup.exe
3. Choose to install the following top-level components
- Reconfigurable I/O
- Real-Time and Embedded
- NI Measurement & Automation Explorer
4. Select Next and follow the instructions to install
Get Started with LabVIEW and CompactRIO
Once installation is complete, view the Getting Started with CompactRIO and LabVIEW manual to configure your CompactRIO system and create your first application.
