Files To Update Tab

The Files To Update tab contains the following options:

  • Files To Update—Specifies the files to update.
    • Active Sequence File—Specifies to update the active sequence file. This option is only available when a sequence file is active.
    • All Sequence Files Under Directory—Updates all the sequence files located in the directory you specify and its subdirectories.
    • Specific Sequence Files—Updates all the sequence files listed in the list control. Use the Add Files, Remove, and Remove All options to edit the list of files to search.
    • All Sequence Files in Current Workspace—Updates all the sequence files the currently open workspace contains. This option is only available when a workspace is open.
    • Ignore Locked Files—Specifies to skip all locked files. TestStand sets this option by default.
  • Type Of Calls To Update—Specifies the type of VI calls to update.
    • Process Express VI Calls—Specifies to check all LabVIEW step instances that call an Express VI.
      • Update Express VIs—Specifies to recreate the Express VI using the active LabVIEW version to use the new prototype if the Express VI changed.
    • Process Standard VI Calls—Specifies to check all LabVIEW step instances that call a Standard VI.
      • Reload Prototype If Changed—Specifies to use the new VI prototype if you modified the VI since it was last read.
Note Note  If you disable the Update Express VIs option or the Reload Prototype if Changed option, the Update VI Calls tool does not save the sequence files but instead lists in the log report the suggested changes for you to make.
  • Log Results—Specifies the location of the log file and what information to log.
    • Destination—Specifies the location of the log file. TestStand saves the log data the Status tab displays to this location. If you specify a file that already exists, TestStand overwrites the file.
    • Report Steps With Errors Only—Specifies to log only the step instances that fail to update or any other problem that prevents the step instance from executing.
    • Report Parameter Changes—Specifies to log the parameters TestStand adds or deletes if the VI prototype changed. This option is only available if you set the Update Express VIs option or the Reload Prototype If Changed option.

The Files to Update tab also contains the following button:
