Each model plug-in file specifies a category name to determine when a plug-in can be invoked or made available. For example, in the Result Processing dialog box, you can insert only plug-in instances with the "ResultProcessor" category name. Similarly, the Offline Results Processing Utility invokes only plug-ins with the "ResultProcessor" category name. Therefore, do not use "ResultProcessor" as the category name for a plug-in you create that does not act as a result processor.

TestStand currently includes only results processing model plug-ins. You can use custom category names to define categories of model plug-ins you create that perform tasks other than results processing. For example, you might create categories of model plug-ins for automatically detecting and storing UUT serial numbers or for exchanging data with Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
