Get Status Operation

Use the Get Status operation to obtain information about the state of the Notification object.

The Get Status operation contains the following options:

  • Notification Name or Reference Expression—The Synchronization object on which to perform the operation. You can specify the notification by name or by the object reference you receive when you create the notification using the Use Object Reference for the Notification Reference Lifetime option.
  • Notification Exists? (optional output)—A location to store a Boolean value that indicates whether the Synchronization object exists.
  • Number of Threads Waiting for Notification (optional output)—A location to store a numeric value that corresponds to the number of threads waiting on the notification.
  • Is Set—A location to store a Boolean value that indicates whether the notification is in a Set state.
  • Is Auto Clear (optional output)—A location to store a Boolean value that indicates whether the notification clears itself after one thread receives the notification. The value of this setting is only meaningful when the notification is in a Set state.
  • Location to Store Data (optional output)— A location to store the notification data, if any. Leave this control blank when you do not want to store the data. The type of the location must be compatible with the data the notification sends.
