Logging Data in Sets (DSC Module)

With the DSC Module, you can organize historical data into data sets. A data set is a group of shared variable values that LabVIEW logs together during a finite time period. A data set might cover a batch and contain all the values generated during a single execution of a batch process. The ID shared variable for each data set denotes a particular data set and the time during which the data set run took place. A batch process is defined by specific start and end conditions. The start and end conditions can include an analog input or digital input or time of day. You can perform batch logging with a data set marking I/O server.

Retrieving Logged Data Sets

You can use the Historical Data Viewer or the DataSets VIs to retrieve the data set values.

Considerations for Logging Data Sets

You cannot include a data set within another data set. Also, if a data set starts but does not properly meet its end condition, the data set is an open-ended run and does not appear as a complete data set when you access completed data sets in the Historical Data Viewer or with the DataSets VIs.
