DSC Module Tools (DSC Module)

The LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module adds the following tools to LabVIEW.

NI Shared Variable Monitor

Use the National Instruments Shared Variable Monitor to monitor the value, time stamp, alarm state, and connection status for selected shared variables in the system and to write the value to an output or input/output shared variable. Select Tools»DSC Module»Monitor Variables to launch the NI Shared Variable Monitor. You can access help topics about the NI Shared Variable Monitor by selecting Help»Help Topics in the NI Shared Variable Monitor window.

Citadel Historical Database

The Citadel historical database is a National Instruments database used by the DSC Module and other National Instruments products that efficiently stores data acquired and processed by applications.

Historical Data Viewer

Use the Historical Data Viewer to view the data stored in any Citadel database. Select Tools»DSC Module»View Historical Data to open the Historical Data Viewer in the NI Measurement & Automation Explorer. You can use the Historical Data Viewer without programming any VIs in LabVIEW. You can access help topics about the Historical Data Viewer by selecting Help»Help Topics»Historical Data Viewer in MAX.

Note  If you have applications that use the Classic Historical Trend Viewer (HTV) from a previous version of the DSC Module, you still can use the HTV in the previous applications. Do not use the HTV in new applications with the DSC Module 8.0.

Image Navigator

Use the Image Navigator to browse through a collection of industrial automation images you can use to create front panels. Select Tools»DSC Module»Image Navigator to launch the Image Navigator. You can access help topics for the Image Navigator by selecting Help»Contents in the Image Navigator.
