Note You can configure alarming only for shared variables with the Variable Type set to Network-Published on the Variable page of the Shared Variable Properties dialog box. |
Complete the following steps to configure alarms for Boolean shared variables.
- Right-click a Boolean shared variable in the Project Explorer window and select Properties from the shortcut menu to display the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
- In the Shared Variable Properties dialog box, select the Alarming option to display the Alarming page.
- Place a checkmark in the Enable Alarming checkbox.
- Click the Configure button to display the Configure Boolean Alarms dialog box.
- In the Configure Boolean Alarms dialog box, place a checkmark in the Value checkbox or a Bad Status checkbox to select the type of alarm you want to enable for the Boolean shared variable.
- Enter the name of the alarm in the Name text box.
- If you placed a checkmark in the Value checkbox, set the Alarm On switch to Low to configure the shared variable to be in an alarm state when the value is low. Set the Alarm On switch to High to configure the shared variable to be in an alarm state when the value is high.
- Enter a priority for the alarm in the Priority text box. The priority level can be 1–1,000, where 1,000 is the highest priority.
- Select an the acknowledgement mode in the Ack Mode pull-down list.
- Enter a name for the area to which the alarm should belong in the Area text box.
- Enter a description of the alarm in the Description text box.
- Place a checkmark in the Log? checkbox to log alarm information to the Citadel database.
- Click the OK button to close the Configure Boolean Alarms dialog box.
- Click the OK button to close the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
