Note You can configure alarming only for shared variables with the Variable Type set to Network-Published on the Variable page of the Shared Variable Properties dialog box. |
Complete the following steps to configure alarms for string and custom shared variables.
- Right-click a string or custom shared variable in the Project Explorer window and select Properties from the shortcut menu to display the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
- In the Shared Variable Properties dialog box, select the Alarming option to display the Alarming page.
- Place a checkmark in the Enable Alarming checkbox.
- Click the Configure button to display the Configure String or Custom Alarms dialog box.
- In the Configure String or Custom Alarms dialog box, place a checkmark in the Bad Status checkbox.
- Enter the name of the alarm in the Name text box.
- Enter a priority for the alarm in the Priority text box. The priority level can be 1–1,000, where 1,000 is the highest priority.
- Select an the acknowledgement mode in the Ack Mode pull-down list.
- Enter a name for the area to which the alarm should belong in the Area text box.
- Enter a description of the alarm in the Description text box.
- Place a checkmark in the Log? checkbox to log alarm information to the Citadel database.
- Click the OK button to close the Configure String or Custom Alarms dialog box.
- Click the OK button to close the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
