Configuring Alarms (DSC Module)

Complete the following steps to configure alarms.

  1. Right-click a target or a project library in the Project Explorer window and select New»Variable from the shortcut menu. You also can right-click an existing shared variable in the Project Explorer window and select Properties from the shortcut menu to display the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
  2. In the Shared Variable Properties dialog box, select Alarming from Category list to display the Alarming page of the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
  3. Place a checkmark in the Enable Alarming checkbox and click the Configure button.
  4. Set the alarm attributes. The available attributes vary depending on the data type of the shared variable—double, Boolean, bit array, or string—you are configuring.
  5. Click the OK button to save changes and return to the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
  6. Click the OK button to close the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
