Introduction to the LabVIEW Real-Time Module (RT Module)
Most LabVIEW applications run on a general-purpose operating system (OS) like Windows, Linux, or Mac OS. Some applications require real-time performance that general-purpose operating systems cannot guarantee. The LabVIEW Real-Time Module extends the capabilities of LabVIEW to address the need for real-time performance.
The Real-Time Module combines LabVIEW graphical programming with the power of a real-time operating system, enabling you to build deterministic applications. You develop VIs in LabVIEW and execute the VIs on an RT target. The RT target can run VIs in a stable platform optimized for real-time performance.
