Manually Downloading PDA Applications Using a Palm OS PDA Target (Palm OS, PDA Module)
In addition to deploying the PDA application from LabVIEW, you also can download the PDA application using the PDA target.
Palm OS Device
Complete the following steps to download a PDA application using a Palm OS device.
- Connect the Palm OS device to the host computer.
- On the host computer, double-click the PDA application, which is a .prc file. The Install Tool dialog box from the Palm Desktop software appears with the .prc file selected for installation on the Palm OS device.
- Click the OK button.
- Press the HotSync button on the device cradle to download the PDA application to the Palm OS device.
Palm OS Emulator
Complete the following steps to download a PDA application using a Palm OS emulator.
- Start the Palm OS emulator.
- Right-click the Palm OS emulator and select Install Application/Database»Other from the shortcut menu.
- Navigate to the PDA application.
- Click the OK button.

Tip You also can download a PDA application by dragging the .prc file onto the emulator. |
The Palm OS emulator generates warnings about using internal functions and data structures of Palm OS. You can configure the emulator to ignore or suppress these warnings by right-clicking the emulator and selecting Settings»Debugging from the shortcut menu.
Palm OS Simulator
Complete the following steps to download a PDA application using a Palm OS simulator.
- On the Palm OS simulator, right-click and select Install»Database from the shortcut menu.
- Select the .prc file to install and click the OK button.
- On the Palm OS simulator, click the PDA application to open and run the application.
