PDA and Touch Panel VIs support the following functionality for Boolean controls:

  • Labels
  • Captions
  • Boolean text

Color

PDA and Touch Panel VIs support color in the following Boolean controls differently than LabVIEW for Windows:

  • Toggle switches—PDA and Touch Panel VIs do not support different colors for a toggle switch and the base of a toggle. The color you select for the toggle switch is also the color of the toggle base regardless of the color you select for the base.
  • Push buttons—PDA and Touch Panel VIs do not support changing the background color of a push button.
  • Vertical and horizontal slide buttons—PDA and Touch Panel VIs do not support changing the foreground color of a slide button.
  • Decorations—If you place a Boolean control on a decoration, the Boolean control uses the background color of whatever the decoration is on instead of the decoration if the color is different.

Checkboxes

PDA and Touch Panel VIs support checkboxes differently than LabVIEW for Windows:

  • You cannot resize a checkbox control in a PDA or Touch Panel application.

Mechanical Action

For all latch mechanical actions, Boolean controls appear as if the mechanical action is Latch when pressed, which means the control retains the actual value until the PDA or Touch Panel application reads the value of the control. The control then reverts to its default value. But the PDA Module and the Touch Panel Module actually treat the latch mechanical action as Latch when released, which means the actual value of the control releases only after the PDA or Touch Panel application reads the value of the control.

The PDA Module and the Touch Panel Module treat all switch mechanical actions as Switch when released, which changes the control value only after you tap within the graphical boundary of the control.
