Running a VI executes the operation for which you designed the VI. You can run a VI if the Run button on the toolbar appears as a solid white arrow, shown as follows.

The behavior of the Run button in PDA and Touch Panel VIs differs from LabVIEW for Windows.
(PDA Module) Deploying and running PDA applications on an ARM emulator opens a new instance of the emulator every time you deploy and run a PDA application on an ARM emulator.
Click the Run button in a PDA or Touch Panel VI to build the PDA or Touch Panel VI into an application, deploy the application to the PDA or Touch Panel target, and run the application on the PDA or Touch Panel target. LabVIEW prompts you to create a build specification if you do not have an existing build specification for the PDA or Touch Panel VI.

Press the <Ctrl> key while you click the Run button to build the PDA or Touch Panel VI into a PDA or Touch Panel application without deploying or running the application. LabVIEW prompts you to create a build specification if you do not have an existing build specification for the PDA or Touch Panel VI.
Click the Pause button, shown as follows, and then click the Run button to start a debugging session. LabVIEW prompts you to create a build specification if you do not have an existing build specification for the PDA or Touch Panel VI.
