Specify hotkeys in the dialog editor in order to access certain controls of the user dialog box quickly.

A hotkey is an underlined character in a text or in the name of a control such as a button. To identify the hotkey precede the respective letter with a &-character. If you press <Alt> and the predefined hotkey, the control receives the focus.

You use the Accelerator property in the dialog editor to assign a hotkey to controls that do not have a text or a name, for example, the EditBox, ListBox, and ComboBox. Usually you precede the controls with a descriptive text that contains the selected hotkey as an underlined character.

Use the ListItems property to define the hotkeys for the Radiobutton control.

To specify hotkeys in a user dialog box, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the DIAdem SCRIPT panel.

  1. Select Edit»Create Dialog Box.

  2. Click the Text control on the Controls bar.

  3. Drag open the control in the dialog box.

  4. Click the column to the right of the Text field in the Properties tab and enter &Input. Text1 must be selected.

  7. Click the column to the right of the Accelerator field in the Properties tab and select I. EditBox1 must be selected.

  8. Click the CheckBox control on the Controls bar.

  9. Drag open the control in the dialog box.
