Complete the following steps to generate a LabVIEW VI from a SignalExpress project.

Note  LabVIEW code generation requires the LabVIEW 8.2 Full Development System or later. SignalExpress does not support 64-bit editions of LabVIEW. If you have installed multiple versions of LabVIEW, the VIs generate in the open version.
  1. Create and save the project in SignalExpress.
  2. Select Tools»Generate Code»LabVIEW Diagram to begin the conversion process.
Note  If LabVIEW does not generate a VI for the SignalExpress project, make sure that SignalExpress can access the VI Server in LabVIEW. From LabVIEW, select Tools»Options. On the VI Server page of the Options dialog box in the Exported VIs section, select the Allow access option for each item in the Exported VIs list to allow access to the VI Server.
  3. Specify a name for the VI you want to generate, and click the OK button. LabVIEW converts the active work area of the SignalExpress project to a LabVIEW VI that can include one or several Express VIs.
  4. (Optional) If you want to use low-level VIs instead of Express VI configuration dialogs, right-click each Express VI, select Open Front Panel, and click the Convert button to convert the Express VI to a subVI.

During code generation, LabVIEW converts most SignalExpress steps to SignalExpress Express VIs. If the LabVIEW VI you generate does not contain the Express VIs you expect, the project might include steps or configuration options that limit LabVIEW code generation.

Note  Because the SignalExpress execution engine manages the configuration dialogs for the Express VIs in the generated VI, you must install SignalExpress on the computer where you run the VI, or you must create a source distribution for the generated VI.
